Insert a blank page so the spreads line up

When a two-page spread lands on the wrong side of a reader, the cause is almost always a page count that is off by one somewhere before it. A missing inside cover, a credits page the scanner dropped, one blank the archive never had. The planned verb sits in the Pages tab menu: select a page, choose Insert blank page before or after, and every spread from that point on lands where the artist put it. We are being straight with you: it is not live yet, so this page does not offer it.

What the Pages tab does today: every page of the open file as a grid of thumbnails, with remove, restore and set as cover on each page. Removing a page shifts the count the other way, which sometimes fixes a spread on its own.

What inserting a blank page will do

  1. Fix the count from one point

A blank inserted at the right place corrects every spread after it, without moving the ones before it. A whole-file shift would move all of them.

  2. Before or after, your choice

The menu offers both, so the blank goes exactly where the missing page was.

  3. Visible in the grid

The inserted blank renders as a hatched cell, numbered in sequence, so you can see the alignment before you convert.

  4. Until then: remove or split

Removing a filler page changes the count today. The whole-file spread splitting option is also live for archives that store spreads as one wide image.

Honesty first

A blank in the wrong place breaks every spread after it. The verb ships when the grid shows the corrected sequence exactly as the reader will see it.

The Pages tab helps now

Remove, restore and set as cover are live on every page, and the live preview shows the page sequence before you convert.

Frequently asked questions

Can I insert a blank page here right now?

Not yet, and we will not pretend otherwise. The row is in the page menu, marked Soon, so you can see where it will be. Remove, restore and set as cover are live on every page.

Why do my spreads land on the wrong side?

Because the number of pages before the spread is odd where it should be even, or the other way round. One blank in the right place fixes the parity for everything that follows.

Does the blank show up on my reader?

As an empty page, yes, the same way a printed book carries a blank to keep spreads facing. That is the point: the reader shows the spread on two facing screens.

Will you announce when it is ready?

Yes. When it ships the Soon mark comes off the row and this page hosts the feature. You can vote for it on the roadmap in the meantime.

MangaConverter runs on Kindle Comic Converter (KCC), the open-source engine, for the conversions that are live today. Inserting a blank page is a planned step in front of that pipeline, and this page will host it honestly once it works.
